Look who I hung out with during the 3 days Dell event at Consumer Electronic Show? Some of you know him as the boyfriend in Devil Wears Prada or from the HBO series Entourage.
Adrian was recently chosen as Dell first ever Social Good Advocate. He collaborates with Dell to promote healthier and more sustainable choice of living through digital storytelling. Why him, you asked? It's because in reality, he is been living the green life. Many know him as a social activist instead of an actor. He founded shft.com, a lifestyle platform to convey a more sustainable approach of living through film, design, art and food.
Errr not a good picture of me nor him but I don't have other options!

The past month has been crazy. It's only been a month since I came back from the US but it feels like it's been ages! I guess it's because the non-stop ride after that. I got home late almost every single night. Let me go back and see what happened in the past month:
picture from The Jakarta Post photoshoot
- One of the things I learned during the trip is almost all digital company there have a growth team. Growth team consists of people with background from marketing, web development, research and product. So I formed a growth team to closely monitor the number and understand more about the user journey so we can crank it up a notch, or two.
Pictured here is my Dell Inspiron 11 series 3000 which can be folded flat.
Tech in Asia has one column where they invite entrepreneurs or people who work in digital industry to answer any questions from its readers. It's really an interesting column as we can learn from others about how the business and the industry works along with tips and tricks from them. They invited me to do one a few days ago, so of course I said yes. You can read the whole thing here but I warn you it's very long because I try to answer all questions as detail as possible.
I think I am quite a color coordinated person. I divided my wardrobe by color, I never wear more than 3 colors head to toe and I just can't stand a mismatched color. So it's not unusual if I find things I use or bring or wear during the day to be in a very similar colors. Like this one for example. In the pictures from left to right:
- TOMS Traveler Sunglasses that I got on my last trip to LA. By buying the eyewear, you help restore someone eyesight :). By the way, visiting TOMS HQ at Abbot Kinney Boulevard is a must when you're in LA. I love the coffee, the people and the atmosphere.
One of the intentions of my visit to the US last month was to visit the CES, Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas and witnessed it first hand on the new lineup from Dell. It was quite an experience. I kind of expected it to be boring and kind of intimidated that I would be the least techy one in there but I was wrong! Well maybe I was still the least techy one but at least no one knew! It was actually fun because there were many interesting installations, demos and eye-catching exhibits.
This time, is not a human....
but a refrigerator :D.
When the delivery men carried it from the truck to the pantry, the whole office clapped...haha. Kasian yaah, katanya udah diinvest tapi beli kulkas aja girang!
The truth is, even though we have been invested, we still maintain the startup and frugal mentality. We never used the money that doesn't correlate directly with growth. So we don't suddenly have fancy office and facilities.
But now we have more people, so there's more items. We get sent so many food and cakes and since Lotte supermarket opens just a few steps away from the office, we love to shop there and stock up some more food. Some of us also like to grocery shop during lunch and put frozen food in there before we bring it home. And then there's the nursing mothers who pumps breastmilk and store it in the refrigerator. So yes, a new refrigerator is in order.

How did you spend the first day of January? I started the day with tears cause I had to say goodbye to my cousins. It was their last day of visiting us in LA because school was almost starting.
It was the first time I met the youngest of the sibling. Her name is Eidra. She is 9 years old. She and Jehan just hit it off right away like they've known each other for so long. It's amazing to see Jehan easily opened up to her. She usually won't talk to new people, no matter their ages.
So there we were right at the gate, waiting for them to board the plane. She was so quite trying to control her emotion. I hugged her and put her on my lap and caress her hair while trying to hold my tears. She might not know this, but she inspired me a lot during the whole week she stayed with us. I admire her for being brave, flying 5 hours only with her brother as an unaccompanies minors, to a city she has never been, to see people she had never met before. She is also the sweetest kid I've seen. Very cheerful, positive, patient and nurturing. Her mom said she was a picky eater, but she happily tried new food with us. Maybe you'd see it as nothing special but I know how her family has been facing adversity for the past two months. So it's amazing to see her so calm and courageous.
As soon as she landed in Tampa, her mom message me with this..
